Cutting hard and hardened ferrous materials from 40 to 70 HRc is most economical with tools made from CBN (cubic boron nitride) - the second hardest cutting material after synthetic diamond. CBN is very resistant to deformation and flank wear, is extremely fracture-resistant and chemically stable - for high resistance to diffusion and oxidation. The cutting material also has an extreme hot hardness, enabling it to operate reliably in cutting zone temperatures between 250°C and 1000°C, depending on the material.
For high-performance machining especially of hardened materials and gray cast iron, we offer high-precision and durable indexable inserts in a wide range of geometries and cutting edge designs. When making a selection, it is important to consider the available machines and material conditions, as well as the surface quality to be achieved.
Our indexable inserts are available chamfered, non-chamfered, brushed or sharp-edged, in various chamfer angles, chamfer widths and with different chip breaker designs. And at attractive prices!
MASSIVE CBN INSERTS NOW WITH UP TO 25% PRICE ADVANTAGE!
We have worked on our production processes and have now been able to reduce the production costs for solid inserts even further. We pass this on to our customers in the form of lower prices.
Solid CBN indexable inserts are perfect for machining brake discs, manhole covers or rollers made of sintered steel or cast iron - especially grey cast iron, cast iron with lamellar graphite, ductile cast iron (nodular cast iron), chill cast iron or other hardened materials.
Excellent results are achieved at high speeds and high feed rates thanks to the hardness and thermal stability of CBN.
The following shapes are available in our standard range of solid CBN inserts:
